HOME ADDITION - THE MCDONALD FAMILY

Following Hurricane Michael, it was very difficult to find a contractor not charging outrageously high costs for renovation projects. That in conjunction with housing boom from the strong economy left many builders either unavailable or able to provide almost criminal estimates because of demand. Chris Lewis with C.S. Lewis Construction provided my wife and I a fair and strong estimate that in the end came extremely close to what his original estimate was for our renovation.

​C.S. Lewis construction transformed our home in three project phases, a two-car garage conversion to a master suite, addition of a large car port structure, and a full kitchen renovation.

​Our home had a 575 SF two car garage that Chris turned into a dream master bedroom suite. It includes an 18 ft. x 15 ft. master bedroom, a bathroom on suite with a double vanity, beautiful walk in shower, large walk in closet and separate toilet area.

​The bedroom has an amazing view through solid glass French doors of the new 36 ft. x 15 ft. covered carport that adjoins the swimming pool. This project serves multiple purposes of covered parking, storage, and outdoor entertainment. It has beautiful open beam country cathedral ceilings with rustic outdoor ceiling fans and lighting. It provides storage for the pool equipment, games, and changing room. It also has a spot for a future outdoor kitchen. The siding and paint all match the original house providing a modern farmhouse architecture and feel.

​The renovation also included a complete kitchen renovation with all new stainless-steel appliances and new kitchen top end cabinets. The cherry butcher block kitchen counter tops where custom made and installed by Rose Boulevard and look amazing. It includes stainless drop in farm style sink and all new plumbing and lighting fixtures. The kitchen renovation required three walls to be removed and new wood exposed beams to be installed. This opened the space making for a whole new 1st floor experience.

​Chris contracted and managed subcontractors with top professional expertise in their respective trades. They did a great job and were very responsive given the on-going demand in residential construction. This included a roofer that provided a perfect and beautiful new roof and a HVAC team installing two new AC units to provide the house with almost complete upgrades to major mechanical and structural elements. The entire project Chris was very friendly and worked extra hard to make our dream house and needed renovations become a reality. I strongly recommend C.S.
